Swim meets or carnivals as they are also known are a great way to test your swimming ability and have some fun. Check out the meets coming up, opposite. Grap an entry form/envelope from the clubrooms and hand it in to Sheryl by the date shown on the information.
You can also download an entry form from here. You will need to put this into an envelope along with your payment and hand it to Sheryl Bicker, the club recorder.
At the swim meets you will be required to be in PSC togs and PSC cap [click here]. As a competitive swimmer (entering more that 2 carnivals) you will be lent a PSC sports bag and jacket, and given a PSC towel to be used at your swimming events for the season.
On carnival day...
- You must be at the pool 1/2 hour before the start of the carnival. You should be able to in this time have a warm up.
- When you arrive at the pool always go to the Team Manager and let them know that you are there.
- Always stay with the team. If you need to go away from the team always let the Team Manager know where you are going.
- Please listen to the Team Manager as they will tell you when you need to go to the marshalling area for your race.
- Always use your manners when asking time keepers for your times.
- If you receive a ribbon for a race, please go to the Team Manager so they can record it for points at the end of the season.
- Please do not run around the pool or make a nuisance of yourself. Remember you have your club name on your togs.
- Always remember to bring a drink bottle with lots of water, plenty of food and sunblock (if an outdoor pool). We are never sure how long a carnival may go on for so be prepared for the long haul.
- Jackets/sports bags/towels are given to swimmers to use during the season please do not use these as jackets for any other purpose than carnivals and club nights.
- Team Managers are there to help and look after you, please treat them with respect and do what they ask you to do.
- Always clean up the area where you have been sitting before you leave.
